Vintage Football Cards

Baseball isn't the only sport in the world, there's football too!     Over the past several years my attention has slowly been drawn towards the history of football and it's "golden age".  Alike my baseball card aspirations, I am now collecting pre-war football cards.  Through initial research, I see that very few football card issues were made in the first half of the century, with a small fraction of those depicting professional NFL players.  The majority of pre-war football material isn't surprsingly at the collegiate level.  As a whole many pre-war football cards were part of multi-sport issues, and typically number in single digits per set.

I only began my collection in October 2008, so what I've assmebled is merely the beginning of bigger and hoepfully better cards.  Here's some of what I've obtained so far:

Unknown Pop Warner hang tag card.  The opposite side has a Double Duty Warrior football ad, which the seller of the card touted as a Sears issue.  Thoughts onyear of make and producer are welcomed.

1941 Texaco - Cleveland Rams schedule card.

1905 Dominoe postcard - Yale Eleven

1945 Leister "Autographs" Game - Knute Rockne

1925 Evening Bulletin schedule card with University of Pennsylvania captain Joe Wilson on front.
